Doctor in Business and Institutional Communication from the Universitat Jaume I (2005) and Degree in Information Sciences, Journalism, from CEU-Polytechnic University of Valencia (1991-96). She is a University Professor with more than 20 years of experience. She teaches in the degrees of Journalism, Audiovisual Communication and Advertising and Public Relations at the University College Alberta Giménez -Universidad Pontificia Comillas (2008-present), where she has been Director of the Department of Communication Sciences (2009-2016) and she is currently Coordinator of the Journalism Degree. She was also a Professor at the Universitat Jaume I (2001-05), where she obtained a competitive position as Head of Communication and Information Relations and was founder Director of the University newspaper and radio station.
She also teaches in various Masters, Postgraduate Degrees and specialization courses for public and private organizations. She has directed several Masters; currently a Postgraduate Degree in Dubbing and Voice-over. She participates in several research groups and has developed various competitive projects, whose most recent lines of research are transparency in public administrations and suicide in the media and social networks. She has carried out research and teaching stays at several Spanish and foreign universities (Costa Rica, Poland, Australia, Romania, Thailand, Portugal). She is co-editor of various volumes on communication (The local press and the free press; Radio and television at the local level; Local advertising; Local communication on the Internet; Corporate communication at the local level; New trends in the local press, and Digital television at the end of the analog era). She has also published articles on communication and journalism, particularly from the perspective of corporate communication, journalistic genres, institutional transparency and treatment of suicide in the media and social networks.
She has published articles in different impact journals in JCR and SCOPUS and book chapters, she has been co-organizer of various conferences and has participated in thirty communications and/or presentations at national and international conferences. He has also been part of the author team of the Image and Communication Management Manual of the Jaume I University, the first published in a Spanish public university.
She has been Executive Secretary of the Network of Communication Offices of the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE), vice president of the Association of Communication Offices of Universities and Research Centers (AUGAC) and since 2016 she has been president of the Association of Journalists of the Balearic Islands (APIB), integrated into the Federation of Spanish Press Associations (FAPE), from where she has promoted the first code of ethics on the treatment of suicide in the media (2018).
She has extensive professional experience. She has worked and collaborated in various media since she began her journalistic profession in the newspaper El País. She has been a columnist for the Balearic edition of El Mundo and currently for Ultima Hora, as well as a talk show host on the Balearic regional radio station, IB3, and a contributor to other media outlets (Onda Cero, Antena 3…). She has been head of press at the Ministry of Labor and Training of the Government of the Balearic Islands and director of Communication at the Chamber of Commerce of Mallorca, as well as a consultant in communication and transparency for public and private institutions.
